There is a small window in my studio that only shows up in late summer. About an hour before sunset the light shifts and starts to move across the walls in a way that feels soft and warm. It only lasts for about thirty minutes, but when it hits, everything glows.
It is absolutely worth the heat that comes with it. My studio gets full sun and the big windows turn the space into a little greenhouse. It is warm, sometimes more than warm, but there is something about that late day light that makes the whole space feel dreamy. A little hazy. A little intimate. The kind of light that slows everything down.
This session unfolded right in that window. The clean walls, the warm floor, the way she settled into the space. Nothing complicated. Just good light, simple styling, and the golden warm slow feeling that fills the room at that time of day.
