Some couples dream of a huge ballroom wedding, and some just want to get married their way—good food, great friends, and a night that actually feels like them. That’s exactly what these two did, and it was a blast to capture.
They started their day with a first look in Alamo Square, just blocks from where they got ready at home. After that, we had to take portraits at the Painted Ladies, because how do you skip that when you’re getting married in SF? Then we walked a couple blocks through their own neighborhood to their ceremony and reception at Che Fico—just two people in love, strolling through the streets they call home, about to celebrate with all their favorite people.
Che Fico was the perfect choice for them. It’s got that warm, intimate vibe, and the food? Next level. Their guests enjoyed incredible Italian dishes, cocktails flowing all night, and—maybe the best wedding food choice ever— late night pizza to close out the evening. Because what’s better than ending your wedding day with a slice of pizza in hand, surrounded by the people you love?
They skipped the wedding traditions that didn’t matter to them and focused on the things that did: a beautiful ceremony close to home, an incredible meal, and a dance floor that stayed packed all night.
And the best part? At the end of the night, they just walked home. No shuttles or Ubers, no stress—just the two of them, hand in hand, heading back to real life as newlyweds.
There’s no “right” way to do a wedding, and this day was proof of that. If your dream day is about good food, good company, and a celebration that actually fits you, take notes from these two. They did it right.
Looks like a blast. I didn’t know they did weddings
